Fashion Democracy

8 Feb
I went to this site, thinking it would be another RueLaLa, Hautelook, GiltGroupe, etc to add to my extensive list of sample sale websites.
But upon closer inspection, it’s a little more cool.
So, check it:
How it works
Discover emerging designers in our very own fashion democracy. Items ship immediately.

Help crowd fund a brand-new collection into production. If enough people fund by pre-ordering a piece, the piece gets made and everyone receives a special discount.

Right now, you are able to vote up pieces (semi-interesting). But soon, you’ll receive instant rewards for picking the most popular pieces (very interesting!) Get your vote on!
So, it’s an interesting idea to say the least.  I haven’t actually shopped here yet, but the clothes I have seen are pretty gorgeous and unique.  I love small-designers.  Basically, you just sign in and vote for the stuff you love most.  If enough people like it, the designer agrees to make a batch at discounted rate.

You cool kids should check it out and tell me if you think this is a neat idea too, or if I just fall for new, shiny things.
